How to assemble the bolo ties

Please read these instructions first, and watch the short 30 second video to see the process of making a bolo tie at this event. 

Step-By-Step instructions:

  1. First - put some rubber gloves on! The adhesive we use for these bolo ties is very strong bonding and will set in 30 seconds (or less!). 
  2. You will receive a tray with a name tag, cord, centerpiece (with slide attached), and tips. 
  3. Have your segment of braided leather cord nearby, pick up the centerpiece with slide, press the button and hold it down, remove the small elastic rope from the centerpiece. KEEP THE BUTTON HELD DOWN.
  4. With your free hand pickup the braided leather cord, holding the two ends of the cord together. Insert these cord ends into the holes on the top of the centerpiece, and pull the ends through the bottom of the slide. You might need to twist the cords a lil bit to get them through. Once the cords are through the holes, you can release the button. 
  5. Now get your adhesive bottle ready, remove the cap, set it close by. Also have a wiping cloth ready to go nearby in case you get some glue on the components. 
  6. Grab one of the two bolo tie cord tips in one hand, and with the adhesive bottle in the other, apply a small bead of glue to the inside of the tip. DO NOT USE TOO MUCH GLUE or you will have a sticky mess! You only need a bead of glue about the size of a lady bug. Quickly wipe off any adhesive around the rim of the tip opening before inserting the cord. 
  7. Insert one of the cord ends into the tip, giving a small twist. wipe off any glue that may have come out of the tip with your wipe. Set the cord and tip down. 
  8. Repeat the same process with the second tip. double check that there is no glue on the tips or cords
  9. Attach the tag to the bolo tie and allow the bolo to sit for 1 minute.
  10. Double check the tips are secure by giving a gentle tug on the tips, if they are secure, then you can give the bolo tie to the guest.
